Why worm composting videos? Worm composting is definitely a hands on activity. As with all hands on activities, it helps to have visuals. I’ve made several videos, and I think they tend to get lost in the shuffle. So if you need a visual, here they are.

Setting Up a Worm Composting Bin
The background music is very distracting on this one, but it still has good instruction. In this video I set up a rubbermaid composting bin. I didn’t add any water to the bin materials because the humidity was high enough that the kitchen scraps added ample water to start the bin. So do as I say, not as I do, and add water to your worm bin initially.

Harvesting Worm Compost
To harvest worm compost, you need to screen it. Here are 2 different ways to do that. The first one is screening through a piece of hardware cloth.
This video uses a tumbler made of hardware cloth and a plastic bucket.
